John Mott

Senior Producer/Director

Producer, screenwriter, production designer, and award-winning director, John’s background includes concept development, directing and producing, and the design and execution of physical environments for Fortune 500 brands, events, music videos, commercials, television, and feature films.

John’s directorial credits include television drama, Guilty or Innocent, short films including Butterflies (official selection in various international film festivals), music videos and a number of nationally aired commercials.

John’s work in design began with a love of architecture and interior space. He ran a successful design firm in London, developing comprehensive environments for corporate and retail spaces, and furniture and product design from concept to manufacture.

John’s interest in design has always been intertwined with his love of film and storytelling. He successfully combined the two roles working as a production designer in film, commercials and television, where he applied his broad and deep knowledge of materials, building techniques, color and lighting to create the look-and-feel of a diverse array of shows.

His production design credits include the CBS drama series Jericho and the Discovery series Moments in Time, for which he was nominated for an Art Directors Guild award for Excellence in Production Design. Recent feature credits include Love At First Hiccup, The One, Driftwood, and Alone With Her.

The challenge of advertising—to tell a compelling story and communicate a message in a matter of seconds—was a natural extension of his work in film and television. He recently directed a series of PSAs which won Telly and Communicator Awards.

John was a keynote speaker on “Production Design In The Digital Age” at a recent NAB (National Association of Broadcasting) Show.

John is a member of the Art Directors Guild (SMPTAD, Local 800), the American Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA).
